The Lovely BSM Community

It seems like such a long time ago since we last connected so… Happy New Year, Happy Chinese New Year and Happy Valentines Days for a few weeks!

We have sure hit the ground running at BSM so far this year. From Service Learning Week being postponed, to volcanoes and now the Coronavirus gripping both the media and our conversations it’s been a busy few weeks. Let me start be honouring those families who were and remain affected by the Taal Volcano eruption. Whilst we cannot help everyone I have been heartened by the contributions and immediate response we received from the BSM community – those of you who are new to the school, this is what BSM is all about! Togetherness, teamwork and kindness… what attributes 🙂 Thank you to each of you who donated in whatever capacity – you are truly valued and appreciated.

Despite the events we cannot control our teachers, staff and students have continued to work hard, complete mocks, start new projects and still find time to fulfil their extra curricular. This is a tribute to the strong character traits our community hold important. It reminds me of the old saying “Keep calm and carry on”.

This was never truer than last weekend when I had another chance to see our fantastic kids in action at ISAC. As I walked around the campus on Friday and Saturday I was thrilled to see not only great sporting role models but stacks of students from across the school cheering the two teams on. Not only did the girls and boys reign champions for basketball and football, but they showed the BSM sporting values in spades as did the supporters. I along with the other members of staff there were incredibly proud of our BSM kids.

In closing I would like to assure you all that the safety of our students and staff is a priority and we are monitoring the current situation. We will continue to keep you updated.

Stay safe lovely people 🙂
