Dear BSM Family,
As this final issue of the Lion’s Roar concludes what has been a dynamic school year, we have much to reflect and ponder on. At the heart of who we are and what we do are our students. They are why we exist and why we provide an outstanding holistic international education. Looking back over this past year we have upheld these precepts very well I believe, notwithstanding the considerable hurdles along the way.
Fifteen weeks ago the BSM experience we enjoyed and took for granted, changed immeasurably. During this time our BSM teachers, support staff, students and parents have shown their resilience and dedication to learning. Our BSM family has reflected the core tenets of our BSM Vision and Mission. Our students have been resilient, applied effort, met the neverending challenges thrown at them, been reflective and confident, and have taken responsibility for their learning. Under difficult conditions, our school has stood strong and our students have still flourished.
Having said all of that, I know that it has been difficult. There has been a huge amount of anxiety caused chiefly by uncertainty, the unknown of what will come next. Students and their families, as well as our staff and their families, have faced immense difficulties and stresses and through everything, handled themselves with aplomb, standing strong in adversity and supporting those around them.
Thank you to our incredible academic and support teams for their tremendous efforts.
Thank you to the BSM School Leadership teams for their measured, professional and committed work.
Thank you to everyone in our BSM family who has supported us through the challenging year we have faced.
We will continue to do our best to support every one of our BSM community until we come through at the end, stronger and wiser. We have finished the year strong and will start the new school year even stronger on 17 August 2020!
To our BSM students, thank you for being you. Thank you for your hard work, passion, compassion, astute insights and your seemingly endless talents. I am proud to be Head at BSM and cannot wait to see you all back where you belong, at our beautiful school campus.
I request everyone follow our BSM Family Portal for updates relating to the 2020-2021 school year.
Enjoy a stress-free, safe and family filled summer.
