Head of School

Happy Holidays!

When I was told how big Christmas was here in the Philippines I could never have imagined how big that “big” was.

These past few weeks have incredibly busy and vibrant at BSM and the lengths to which all our staff go to ensure all the events and happenings run smoothly is truly praiseworthy. There is a level of passion and commitment to school and community which is not easily or readily replicated anywhere else.

The first term at most international schools with a northern hemisphere school calendar is a very looooooooooonnnngggg term. So, no change here at BSM. But, what makes our Term 1 perhaps seem longer is the complex nature of all the activities that mark this period. The extensive depth and breadth of activities and community events have made my first months at BSM thoroughly enjoyable and the many authentic personal interactions have been incredibly meaningful and rewarding.

It must be said, the busyness at school over this past term has been directed and valuable. We have also been extremely productive, and I must thank our incredible faculty and support teams for their hard work and commitment to our school, our vision and to our children. At BSM our commitment to an outstanding holistic international education can be seen in all that we do and I have been impressed by the passion they all have for their craft and our students.

To all of our supportive families, thank you to you too. Your commitment, input and support for BSM is truly appreciated.

We do have members of our BSM community leaving us at the end of this term and I must wish each and every one of you all the very best for the future. Mr Tim Costello, our Head of Music, is moving to be near family and to him and his wife too, go our best wishes.

As I close here and wish you all a joyful December break I must note that this time of the year brings into sharp focus a time of giving. We should be thankful for all that we have and consciously turn our minds and deeds to those who do not enjoy the abundance which we do.
