UNHCR Step with Refugees
As we heard in Whole School Assembly today from our Year 6 students, this year the BSM Fun Run is standing in solidarity with the UNHCR Step with Refugees Campaign to help raise awareness of the continuing struggle faced by refugees across the world. BSM Service Learning will contribute 10php for every km that is run to the campaign, and you can keep track of your contribution by connecting through your fitness app. The global target is 2 billion kilometres – the distance that refugees travel every year to reach safety. Let’s do our bit to show solidarity, raise awareness and raise some funds.
Of course, the Fun Run isn’t only about hel
ping refugees. The money raised will also support our very own BSM Service Learning partners, as well as help us to reach our personal wellbeing targets, and enjoy a fun, active morning in a beautiful setting with others in our community.
Tickets and T-shirts are on sale every day before school, and from 2pm. You can buy them on the day – but we recommend getting them in advance to avoid the queues, and to give yourself a little longer in bed! Or, come in your best fancy dress. There are some great prizes to be won.
Remember, houses will receive a point for every km that is run – and the class / form with the highest km total in a year group will also win a special year group prize!
Help still needed
We also continue to need your help with the bake sale, bbq, and prizes table. If you can donate anything, please add your name to the sign-up sheet: Bake Sale / BBQ Goods. If you would prefer to donate your time, please just get in touch with Emma, Erwin or Runah.
