Thank you BSM

From: Kathleen Darcet, ANAK-Tnk (Tulay Ng Kabataan)

“Our warmest thanks for the great – and so relevant – donation that was delivered to us at the end of October. We feel so lucky to get such efficient and renewed support from BSM. Could you please kindly share the enclosed Thank You picture to those who participated in the collection? We would greatly appreciate it.” Kathleen also sent a summary of the current situation:

  • The entire slum area was burnt and approx. 800 families lost almost everything
  • The Anak TNK Daycare Center was burnt down as well (see before/after picture)
  • People have started rebuilding their shelters, and the center’s ∙reconstruction will start soon
  • Since the fire, Anak TNH have conducted daily delivery of food and/or ready made meals
  • Donations of clothes and hygiene products were sorted into family packs and allocated

Kythe Foundation Toy Drive: Monday 18 – Friday 22 November

By Lucy Bell-Knight 13GAN, Rissa Chua 13GAN and Charlotte Malpass 13NMC

“Please spend the weekend doing a clear-out ready for Christmas, by looking through your unwanted toys. We are collecting for the sick children who will be spending Christmas in Quezon Memorial Hospital. We have been asked NOT to collect soft toys, or any toys with material (as they pose infection risks), but any interactive toys that will keep the children, who are mostly bedridden, occupied will be great. Can you please make sure all toys are clean, in good working order, and have all the pieces. If they require batteries, please supply new ones. We will have donation boxes on the Ground Floor by the Covered Court all next week, and will have a desk set up for those who want to donate in person. If you do this, you will receive a raffle ticket – the lucky winner will receive a prize! Please help us to make Christmas a little brighter for these children. Thank you in advance.”
